My god. Finally. You have no idea how proud I am today. I’m lousy at gift-giving. Once when I was a kid my mother gave me some money to buy my brother a birthday present. I got myself a nice shirt. It was red. I think I had enough money left over for a card for him.
The times I do remember to buy a gift for someone besides myself, I usually hang onto it for 6 months before getting around to giving it. At this very moment I have a Christmas present wrapped and in my buffet in the living room. It’ll be an antique before Janet ever lays eyes on it.
But this Valentine’s Day the planets aligned and I got it right. No emergency trips to the store to pick one of two leftover cards, no gift certificates, no promises that I’ll fail to follow through on.
I ordered my husband THE perfect gift. It arrived on time. I bought him a card DAYS in advance, and it was a great card. It’s a good thing, too, because I ended up going to a funeral in Portland yesterday and never would’ve managed to get him anything if I’d put off my shopping until the last minute.
So, in a nutshell, I’m WINNING!
Speaking of gifts, a couple more are coming YOUR way! Yup, I have a couple of giveaways planned and I’m darn excited about them, so stay tuned.
As for me? Shoot, I’m on a roll now, I’m going Christmas shopping!
Do we get to know what the gift is?
